BOXING DAY - BORDER MORRIS DANCING & THE BOAR’S HEAD!

A longstanding Bedford fixture featuring dancing, music and the oldest recorded Christmas tradition in the English Christmas calendar: the ceremonial presentation of the Boar’s Head.

DUNTON WASSAIL - SEE OUR FAMOUS HORN DANCE!

An evening of dancing and Christmas customs., with a mummers play, singing and a lively wassail in the orchard.

THE PLOUGH PLAY - Monday 12th January 2026

We've been performing this play in Bedford since the 1940s - but it's much older than that! This amazing custom is an ancient part of English folk culture that the BBM are proud to maintain.
